Lesson 11: Tashdīd with Tanwīn

Practice reading letters carrying both a Tashdīd (doubling stress) and a Tanwīn (double vowel). First hold the double stress, then release with the nasalized diacritic.

Doubling + Nasal Sound

Letters with Tashdīd and Tanwīn together (e.g. حَقًّا) are pronounced by first holding the connection with stress (Tashdīd), then releasing with the nasal vowel ending ('-an' / '-in' / '-un').

Alif Seats for Fatḥatān

Like Lesson 8, the Fatḥatān form writes a silent Alif seat after the Tashdīd (e.g. بًّا), except on Tā Marbūṭah or Hamzah. Kasratān and Ḍammatān do not write Alif seats.

Waqf on Double Nasals

Fatḥatān morphs into a **held 2-count Alif** (حَقًّا to حَقَّا). Kasratān/Ḍammatān drop the nasal sound entirely, falling to a **held Sukūn** (e.g. حَقٍّ to حَقّْ).
