Ḍammatān (Double Ḍammah)

A double-loop stroke above a letter producing a nasalized '-un' sound with rounded lips. E.g. بٌ is read 'Bun'.

Stopping on Ḍammatān (Waqf)

When stopping on a Ḍammatān word, the nasal sound is dropped completely and it falls to a silent Sukūn stop (e.g. أَحَدٌ becomes أَحَدْ).
