• Kasrah (كسرة):A short diagonal line underneath a letter. Read quickly (1 count) by dropping the voice and jaw, without stretching or jerking.

Notice that when a Hamzah carries a Fathah, it is written on top of the Alif (أَ). When it takes a Kasrah, the Hamzah is pulled underneath the Alif (إِ).
